On April 6, 2009, GGI began construction on the second phase of its existing McKnight Senior Village senior housing community, in Las Vegas, near Bonanza and Eastern Avenue. The original phase includes 110 one-bedroom units. Phase II will include 77 two-bedroom units.
The expansion will include a new 7,000 square foot clubhouse with full kitchen, media/library room, computer/business center, health room, laundry room, piano bar, crafts room, billiards room, outdoor pool and spa, and fitness center.
The plans call for a 4-story building with elevator access, and units will be configured as two-bedroom floorplans, with washer/dryer hook-up, and hook-up for broadband internet access. There will be balconies, or patios (on the first floor) with exterior storage. The entire building will have ENERGY STAR conservation and green building features throughout.
The second phase won National Association of Home Builder's BEST OF 50+ HOUSING Silver Achievement Award for "On-the Boards" Affordable Rental Category in 2007. Now McKnight II is a reality!
